Enter the Avenger

In a world of swords & sorcery, a wronged individual visits a number of suspect murderers, one by one, to avenge the death of a loved one.

Decisions are made based on players' instincts and bluffing skills, but characters in the game can never know the truth: only players can, and not before the game is over. A short game (half an hour to an hour and a half) originally published in Worlds Without Master #1.

Excerpt:

“I am an escaped slave, bearing scars from both the inhuman cruelties of my former masters and the extraordinary ordeal I had to go through before regaining my freedom. I’m out to avenge the untimely death of my honored half-brother, nurtured from the very same breasts as me, but who was in all other ways my better. In order to exact my due vengeance, I will travel to the Court of Fools in the city of Mezelith, where a new king rules each day and at nightfall is taken down to be sacrificed.”
